A Note from the General Manager

Dear Customer,

Wuensch Sales Company (WSC) was founded by Raymond T. "Butch" and Opal Wuensch, my father and mother. In 1963, Daddy took a gamble at the age of fifty-five and started his own business. He came from several successful years of selling industrial hose and wire rope products to ship agents and stevedores, while Mother worked as a secretary for a phone line supply company. They figured if they could clear a thousand dollars a month, they could earn a living.

With a solid plan in place, 'Wuensch Sales and Service' opened for business in a spare bedroom at home and the back of Daddy’s El Camino. Daddy would sell, purchase, pickup and deliver every order. He hand wrote each sales order which Mom would type up after work in the evenings. Daddy would mail the typed invoices the same night.

Daddy centered the business on service. In the early years, many dinners and occasions were interrupted as Daddy sprinted out the door to help a customer. His specialty was his after-hours vendor list who were available at odd hours. Customers would ask if he could do this or that and he would tell them, “If I can’t do it I will find someone who can.” Daddy passed away in his eighty third year in 2001. Mom is now the CEO & President of the company.

Today my sister, Maureen Wuensch Varnes, and I operate what has become Wuensch Sales Company (WSC). I am the General Manager and Maureen is our Controller. With twelve full time employees, we are a good team with a wide range of experience. Our key sales and operations folks are Willie Deleon (sales & logistics), Jesus Castillo (purchasing and sales), Barbara Yates (sales and our chandler guru), Curtis Lington (data-entry & sales), John Rodriguez (warehouse manager and sales), Mario Verduzco (driver) Noel Castaned, Gerardo Cruz, Juan Gonzalez and Patrick Clark (warehouse workers). Maureen and I both feel blessed to have such a strong, diverse and loyal staff.

WSC offers your company product diversity and exemplary service. We carry inventory from most of the manufacturers we represent. If we do not stock the item you need, we are able to successfully drop ship most items from our manufacturer’s stock, next day, second day, third day or via ground service.
